Principles of Green Chemistry



To address chemical pollution and natural resource depletion, variety of research efforts led to the emergence of green chemistry, an area of chemistry that focuses on the designing of products and processes that minimize the use and generation of hazardous substances. 

In 1998, two chemists, Paul Anastas and John Warner, published a set of principles that guides the practice of green chemistry. These principles suggests ways to reduce environmental and health impacts brought by chemical production. Read them below.
